When he was eight years old, Christopher began attending a weekly after-school program at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) where he learned about astronomy and astrophysics. It was through this program that Christopher developed a love for science. In high school, Christopher excelled in mathematics and physics. He was accepted into the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) at the age of sixteen, becoming the youngest student ever to attend the school. While at Caltech, Christopher worked with NASA on several research projects, including one that involved using lasers to deflect an asteroid. After graduating from Caltech with a degree in physics, Christopher attended Princeton University where he earned his Ph.D. in astrophysics. Today, Christopher is a professor of astrophysics at the Ohio State University and a member of the team working on the James Webb Space Telescope. He is married and has two young children.
