Jeffrey Dahmer - family and life
Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. He had one younger brother, David. Jeffrey Dahmer's childhood was marked by a difficult relationship with his father, who was an analytical chemist. His parents divorced when he was eight years old, and he remained with his father. Lionel Dahmer was often away on business trips, and the young Jeffrey was left home alone for long periods of time.
Dahmer began exhibiting signs of mental illness in his teenage years. He was withdrawn and shy, and he had difficulty making friends. He became interested in taxidermy, and he would often kill animals so that he could preserve their bodies. Dahmer also developed a fascination with corpses, and he would dig up graves so that he could look at the bodies.
In 1978, Dahmer graduated from high school and enlisted in the Army. He served for less than a year before being discharged for drinking too much alcohol. After his discharge from the Army, Dahmer returned to live with his father. He enrolled in college but dropped out after one semester.
In 1987, Dahmer committed his first murder. He lured a young man named Steven Hicks back to his apartment, where he killed him and then dismembered his body. Dahmer kept parts of Hicks' skeleton as souvenirs. Over the next four years, Dahmer would kill eleven more people. Most of his victims were young black men whom he lured back to his apartment with promises of money or sex. He would kill them by strangling them or hitting them over the head with a baseball bat before dismembering their bodies and disposing of them in various ways, including dumping them in acid or boiling them in caustic soda.
Dahmer was finally arrested in 1991 after one of his victims managed to escape from his apartment and alert the police. When they arrived at Dahmer's apartment, they found Polaroid photographs of many of his victims, along with body parts preserved in jars of chemicals. Dahmer confessed to all of the murders and was sentenced to fifteen life terms in prison.
While incarcerated, Dahmer converted to Christianity and expressed remorse for his crimes. In 1994, he was beaten to death by another inmate while taking a shower.

Jeffrey Dahmer was an American serial killer and sex offender who took the lives of 17 victims between 1978 and 1991. In addition to murder, Dahmer was also guilty of rape, necrophilia, and cannibalism. He was sentenced to 15 life terms in prison, but was murdered by a fellow inmate in 1994.
Dahmer grew up in a happy family in Bath, Ohio. His parents were loving and supportive, but his behavior began to change in adolescence. He became withdrawn and isolated, and began experimenting with drugs and alcohol. He also developed a fascination with dead animals, which he would dismember and sometimes eat.
After high school, Dahmer enlisted in the Army but was discharged after only a few months due to alcoholism. He then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he took a series of odd jobs before being arrested for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy. He served 10 months in prison and was placed on probation.
It was shortly after his release from prison that Dahmer began his murderous spree. His first victim was Stephen Hicks, whom he picked up hitchhiking and bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat. Over the next 13 years, Dahmer would claim the lives of 16 more victims, many of whom were young men of color whom he lured back to his apartment with promises of alcohol or money.
Once inside, Dahmer would drug them before raping and murdering them. In some cases, he would also dismember the bodies and engage in necrophiliac acts; in others, he would preserve parts of the bodies as trophies or attempt to create 'zombies' by drilling holes into their skulls and injecting them with chemicals.
Dahmer was finally caught when one of his would-be victims managed to escape from his apartment and flag down a police officer. A search of Dahmer's residence revealed gruesome evidence of his crimes, and he was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple counts of murder. At his trial, Dahmer pleaded guilty but insane, but was ultimately found guilty and sentenced to 15 life terms in prison.
While incarcerated at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Wisconsin, Dahmer was killed by a fellow inmate in 1994.
